Mount Shasta Hotlum Glacier

<<< Previous Image     Next Image >>>

The Hotlum Glacier on Mount Shasta is the largest glacier on the mountain. The three distinct icefalls on the California glacier create crevasses and glacial features reminiscent of glaciers of the Alaska Range. The largest of the icefalls is in the center of the image. This is a panoramic image, so the ridge I am standing on is warped into a broad u shape, and the summit of Shasta appears small!
