The Palisade Glacier is the Sierra Nevada's largest glacier. The Palisade Glacier is also unique in that the glacier ends in a small lake. The glacier literally calves off into the lake. The spectacular Palisades ring the glacier. Many of California's 14,000 foot peaks are in the Palisades.
